The Southwest Region of United States
Includes four states that span over 574,000 square miles. Geography is diverse as the low lying flats of the Rio Grande, to the high peaks of Wasatch & Southern Rocky Mountain range.
TIP: >Additional Southwest breeders can be found at the Great Dane Club of America's breeder index. Including, some great breeders that have not gone on line to with their programs.
Climate varies as well, be it frigid sub zero temperatures during winter months in the North, or dry desert heat of over 100 degrees to the South. This is a land of extremes! Interestingly, there is great beauty as well, natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley are awe inspiring. The Southwest is home of many Indian reservations including the Hopi, Navajo, Apache, as well as the Zuni and Pueblo people. Prior to the mid 1800's, the area was owned in part by Spain and Mexico and a moderate Native American and Mexican influence remain ever present in the region's culture to this day.
